whats the point in 300ftlbs if you can't put it down???

and mikey no a shortshifter will just "shorten" the throw of the gearstick and make changes a fraction faster.

the losses are due to moving components... in the 4wd system the gearbox is driving a trasnfer box and 2 differentials 4 drive shafts and 4 wheels as opposed to half the amount in the 2wd setup, each diff, shaft hub etc creates friction and slows the drive train down. the engine has to overcome this... therefore the power difference between the fly wheel and the road can be substaintially lower especially for a 4wd system

Dont forget that 4x4 has a 20% power loss though transmission even without an LSD.

Can you specify how there is such a big loss? and how do you eleviate this prob? short throw shifter?

Cheers

You asked what BHP Aarons car was above.

My reply is that power is not the end and be all of anything, as a car with decent suspension and geometry setup has the ability to put the power down better than a higher power rated motor.

the slogan that Pirelli uses has got it to a tee.

kool so wat ya reckon wid him and keith racing???

lol do ya reckon keiths gotta chance. ive added you to msn so come online

Would be good to watch but bear in mind the things Jano has said

Your dead right there Jano the front wish bone system on the RS2K'S is $h!t
They should have designed all the rs's to run a mk3 set up

I try to learn about all cars and engines etc.. But there are so many i have to choose which ones i Really want to know about and get stuck in at the deep end.

The only reason i know about the Maxi RS2000 stuff is because i have worked on one and was going to do the same stuff to TAZ when i had her.

Cost alot of money so sold Taz and bought a Mk3 which already has the best suspension and geometry setup from factory.

The Mk3 has the closest setup to true motorsport system. 8) Out of all RS's Cosworth's XR's etc.. The RS16i then the S1 are the daddys of them all when talking about suspension and geometry.

This is the real deal that was used in rallys all over the world.

:supz:

Big up the Mk3's
