Dont have to have pins :)

All you need is a cable under the bonnet which is not going to break with force.

(I use a stainless braided wire with plastic sleeve so it dont scratch)

then connect the wire to anywhere under the bonnet that can take the force IF it were ever going to open when driving. Using a climbers hook like this:-

Clip'd onto the bonnet will stop it from opening up, you only need to make the wire long enough to get your hand in and unclip it.
This way if the lid was to come up when driving it would only open a few cm untill you slowed down.

It also stops you from getting dents in your bonnet where they dont fit the S2 very well.

The S1/Mk3 Escorts have a perfect hole in one skin of the bonnet, the S2 does not have this and clamps the two skins together causing it to bend if not done right.

:)

Top Idea Jano as when I fitted my pins the 1st 1 dented the bonnet slightly so had to re do it

Also your idea is good if you don't want to run bonnet pins

I think you need to fill the engine bay back up with more productive shite than what i took out :P

A pair of strut tops would make a big diff and braided pipe for the breather is very cheep and worth changing then we could move it to the left of the bay.

We should change your top part of the inlet, also move the map sensor and ignition amp out of site.

Another header tank would look kool 8)

There was a Section in FF a few months back on bonnet pins with the bird with pink marrigolds on lol...

Looked pretty straight forward.. Looks the Mutts I rekon.. And they did a bit on the raised bonnet at the back (drag-esque)
